Whether you’ve made the choice to stay at Verrazano as a long-term member of our family or for a short-term, transitional stay, we want you to feel emotionally secure and balanced. Our social services team is committed to making you feel instantly at home and will help you through a seamless, enjoyable move-in experience.
Meet Our Director of Social Services and Admissions Coordinator
Our Director is a graduate of Fordham University Graduate School of Social Services, holds a Master of social work degree, and brings over 20 years of experience to our team at Verrazano. She is screen certified and passionate about providing social services and continuing education for residents. She has completed the training for NYC Supportive Housing Applications as well as MDS 3.0 training, which gives her the professional skills and expertise to assist you in completing housing. In addition to overseeing our in-house social work assistant, she is a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, which creates comprehensive care plans for each resident’s unique needs while staying with us at Verrazano.
Enjoy Your Transition
Making a move from your local community or transitioning out of a hospital stay can be emotionally trying. At Verrazano, we realize that there’s a lot more involved in making this big decision than packing up a few boxes with clothes and keepsakes. From hammering out the details of housing applications to making sure we draw up personalized assessments of each newcomer to Verrazano, we offer a streamlined approach for taking care of all the details. Let us take care of your family, and the technical aspects of getting your loved one situated in a new setting, so all that is required is to move in, meet a few new friends, and enjoy life.
Our friendly team members in the Social Services department are advocates who will be by your side as long as your loved one is a Verrazano resident. Thanks to our facility’s small size, we offer individual, personalized attention to each and every resident, so rest assured that your relative’s emotional and physical needs will be met, even exceeded.
Rather than feeling like they are just a number, our residents quickly realize that we have their best interests at heart, and we respect our residents’ ideas, feelings, and personalities. We meet with residents and their families regularly to discuss concerns and make any necessary changes to schedules and diets. In addition, we offer counseling as needed.
Please contact us today to visit our living space, to look at our rehabilitation center, and to observe the daily goings-on at Verrazano, from physical therapy to arts and crafts. We are located on Castleton Ave. and look forward to showing you all we have to offer.
Thank you for contacting us.
We will get back to you as soon as possible
